What a day it was to return to my old team's ground, Birmingham City FC on Saturday the 18th March 2017. The club were playing in the Championship against Newcastle United FC and I was a guest of honour representing the Headway Charity who managed to secure the match days sponsor to raise awareness for concussions and head injuries in football.
As part of my role as an ambassador for the Headway Charity I was treated to a VIP box for the game, lead the teams out and I was interviewed at half time on the pitch to share my story and help people to realise the importance of taking head injuries seriously. It was a dream come true for me. The last time I was stood on that pitch we had just booked our place into the FA Youth Cup semi final, it was lovely to make a positive return to the St Andrews pitch.
